When I was a wee girl, I loved stories, drawing and cartoons.
I also loved pretending to be a Power Ranger and a cat (not at the same time, don't be daft), but I would argue those are tangentially relevant to my journey.
As I grew up to a not so wee girl, I still loved those things - maybe more-so! Actually no, definitely more-so. So I stubbornly drew and noted down story ideas in my maths jotters throughout high school and long story short, I graduated from the University of Dundee with a BA Hons in Animation in 2012.
And failed Higher Maths.
Twice.
So now I'm a sort of average size woman based in Glasgow, Scotland. And I STILL adore stories, drawing and animation, with an extra soft spot for 2D hand drawn (my first love!) Along the way I discovered the allure of the pre-production side of things - storyboarding is my personal favourite, character design following close behind.
I love listening to audiobooks and podcasts (as a book-lover feels like a massive cheat when you realise you can devour a book AND do your work at the same time), videogames (when I have the downtime and in moderation... I know what I'm like, you don't want to know the hours I've lost to Skyrim) and most recently finding a new kind of creative/nerdy outlet by playing D&D.
And just to prove my interests aren't solely sedentary (but they mostly are), I also enjoy rock climbing and hill walking.
I was about to write that I also enjoy going to kickboxing HIIT sessions, but frankly my enjoyment ends when I'm told to stop battering out my frustrations on the innocent punchbag and told to start doing jumping jacks while juggling medicine balls or some such nonsense.
And on that note, thank you for visiting my website!
